Crystalline fructose

Crystalline fructose is a sweetener that is derived from corn or sugarcane and is used in food and beverages

Crystalline fructose is often used when a high level of sweetness is desired without adding a large amount of sugar. It’s also used to balance sweetness profiles and mask aftertastes of other sweeteners. 

Crystalline fructose is an added sugar that contributes calories and can cause weight gain. The American Diabetes Association doesn’t recommend it for people with diabetes.
