$84.95 – $1,099.95
Croscarmellose sodium is a white, odorless, fibrous powder that is used as a disintegrant in pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products:
Croscarmellose sodium is a cross-linked polymer of carboxymethylcellulose sodium (CMC). It is insoluble in water but swells rapidly when it comes into contact with it.
Properties of Croscarmellose sodium are hydrophilic, absorbent, and have excellent water-wicking capabilities. It is also relatively free flowing.
The usage of Croscarmellose sodium is used as a disintegrant in oral pharmaceutical formulations, such as tablets, capsules, and granules. It helps tablets break down in the intestinal tract after being taken orally. This improves the bioavailability of the drug by allowing it to dissolve better.
Also, Croscarmellose sodium is also used in the textile and paper industry, as an insecticide, and in oil-well drilling operations. In biomedicine, it has been used to prevent epidural scar adhesions and postsurgical soft tissue adhesions.
